StudyBuddy started as one 8th grader's idea — and grew into a free homework helper for every student in grades 7–12. Because the best tools are built by the people who need them most.
The origin story
StudyBuddy was created by Jaxson Soberman, an 8th grader who got tired of the same frustrating experience every student knows: you're stuck on a homework problem, you search online, and you either get the answer with zero explanation — or a wall of confusing text that makes things worse.
Jaxson's vision was simple: build the homework helper he wished he had. One that actually walks you through the steps, explains the why, and treats you like you're smart enough to understand — because you are.
Because who better to design a tool for students than a student?
Not everyone has a tutor. Not every parent remembers high school chemistry. And not every teacher has time to re-explain a concept one-on-one after class.
StudyBuddy fills that gap — walking every student through every step, the way a great teacher would if they had unlimited time. No judgment, no rushing, no "just Google it."
StudyBuddy is free. It always will be.
Anyone can Google an answer. We help you understand why it's correct — so you can solve the next problem on your own.
Not everyone has a tutor or a parent who remembers high school math. StudyBuddy is here for every student, free.
We show the work and explain every step. Our goal is to make you better at the subject — not to do your homework for you.
You're busy. We get to the point. No walls of text, no confusing jargon — just clear explanations that make sense fast.
Jaxson Soberman, an 8th grader, built StudyBuddy because he wanted a homework helper that actually explained things — not just handed over answers.
Every feature was designed with real students in mind — mobile-first, fast-loading, and easy to navigate when you're stressed about a deadline.
We add new topics, fix confusing explanations, and update content based on student feedback every week. Your input shapes what gets built next.
